Chris Vosters is a play-by-play broadcaster based in Chicago. His broadcasting background is rooted in his early childhood when he announced scores from the newspaper at the breakfast table and called games for the Mighty Wombats of the Backyard Baseball League.
With interests in sports and public speaking, Chris pursued a career in broadcast journalism in college. At the University of Wisconsin, Chris graduated with honors from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Outside the classroom, Chris’s career vision crystalized thanks to his time at the university’s state-of-the-art student radio station, 91.7-FM WSUM, where he served as sports director.
In search of on-air reps to hone his delivery and find his voice, Chris began his post-college career in baseball. Chris reached a major stepping-stone in 2015 when he accepted the lead broadcast position for the Great Lakes Loons, a Los Angeles Dodgers’ affiliate, and ESPN 100.9-FM WLUN in Midland, Michigan. The Loons won the Midwest League championship in 2016, and Chris was named the league’s broadcaster of the year by his peers. While in the Great Lakes Bay Region, Chris also broadcast high school football and basketball, along with college basketball for Northwood University. The Sportscasters' Talent Agency of America recognized Chris on its latest 30 Under 30 list of the top broadcasters under age 30.
Since 2017, Chris has called games for the Big Ten Network, FOX Sports, the ESPN family of networks, NBC Sports and Stadium. A particular highlight and honor for Chris is his coverage of three Olympic Games. With NBC, Chris has announced 4K figure skating at the 2018 Winter Olympics; fencing, canoe slalom and sport climbing at the 2020 Olympics and ice hockey at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Chris has also covered wheelchair curling and sled hockey at the last two Paralympic Winter Games, respectively.
Chris was thrilled and humbled to be named the television voice of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2022. Previously, he had called college hockey on the B1G Network, including the 2019 NCAA Women's Frozen Four, and covered Hockey Day Minnesota on Bally Sports North (formerly FOX Sports North). On that network, Chris also made his Major League Baseball debut in 2022 as a fill-in on Minnesota Twins' broadcasts.
Chris feels alive in his work and strives to use broadcasting as a tool to become a better person. He enjoys sports as a way of learning more about people and the world.
